HARRIS Hi. I am trying to find some information about my Nan's family. Her name was Cissie Harris (b1911ish) she married William White (b1909ish) they had 2 children Doris (my mom) and William and lived in Witton, Birmingham. She was sister to: Edith, Charlie, Irene, Millie, Jim, Dick and Iris. The family were bought up in what is now the Newtown area of Birmingham around 1890 - 1930. They lived fairly near to the Aston Theatre which apparently was over the road from the Bartons Arms Pub. I am particularly interested in finding anyone who can give me some information about my great grandparents. The only information I have at the moment is my great grandmothers name, Mary Harris and some sketchy info re: my Nan's brothers & sisters. Information I have is: Edith was the eldest sister & she married Jack (no/dates surname) Irene had 3 children (maybe more) Named: Shirley,Larry & Jimmy. Millie married Arthur (no dates/surname) Jim was the eldest of the brothers Charlie married Edna (no dates/surname) Dick met his partner Mary late in life (probably in his 50's) Edith married Jack and they ran the 'Red Cow' pub in town. The pub was close to a theatre and displayed lots of photos of stars that appeared there. I have sent loads of e.mails to Harris' but have had no replies. Please help!!!!! Thanks, Jackie |
