Find Ancestors

I am trying to find the family of John Hartley b.c 1824 in Downholland,Lancs.He had a brother Thomas Hartley married to Ellen Latham.John married Ellen's sister Elizabeth Latham and had several children including a daughter Alice who married Henry Sheard.
I am a descendant of Thomas and Ellen.

Hello Ann,I'm sorry I don't think there's a connection ,Thomas Hartley was the son of William Hartley b.c.1796 in Downholland and Ellen Brownbill b.1802 in Melling by Maghull.I havn't come across a Jane Hartley so far,but Hartley was a very common name in the area around Ormskirk,Halsall etc.
I will put a message on the board if I find any connection though.

I havn't got John Hartley's marriage certificate but I have him on all the censuses from 1841.
My particular interest is in Thomas Hartley as I have some old photos which need identifying and hoped that if i could find a descendant of John his brother there might be someone still around who may know.
as John would be my gt.uncle.

Hello Ann,
Have you got Jane & Joseph Clayton on the censuses? I couldn't find anything connecting Jane Hartley with our lot but found them on the 1841 & 1861 censuses living in Pembroke St.Liverpool,in 1841 they had 4 children and 1861 just 2 girls living with them,Eliza & Sarah.
