Thought I would let you know that 'Hollis Croft' was a big Irish and Catholic area of Sheffield, also very poor with housing of 1 up 1 down

The houses are gone now but the Road Hollis Croft is still there and ironically there’s a big BMW dealer at the end of it...eeeeh 'not like owd days', thank goodness!

Well K Scotland St is also Hollis Croft...how odd Also Elizabeth Frazer is down as 'Servant' on the above census K posted. There is no way you would have had a servant living in Hollis Croft?

Hi ref Richard Hartley i now have his Birth certificate born Salford 1842 his father was James down as Painter and glazier, mother looks like Felicia Bodson. ive looked on Family search for James there is one he was born 1821 Dye Works (paint man) but his wife was Catherine born Wales 1831,do you think this might be Richards Father as Richard was a Cloth dyer on his Daughters wedding certificate. and that James might have remarried,can you help thanks Janette
