It's just been suggested to me that the Cunliffe bit of my father's name (Christopher John Cunliffe Hartley) is because of descent from the Cunliffe Hartleys of Wycoller Hall in Lancashire. Want to try to bridge the gap between my grandfather, William Hartley and this possible link. Anyone able to help? Addendum I believe that William Hartley's (1914-1970) mother was called Christine. His sister was called Molly.
