HARTLEY - Eccles, Lancs. Can anyone solve a conundrum? My Great Great Grandfather and his family moved to a road in Winton, Eccles from Salford. His name was James and his father was called John Hartley who lived in Salford. In the 1901 census, about 6 houses away lived another Hartley family. Robert, Hannah and their nephew; Robert. Robert elder was born in 1822 and James in 1858. The funny thing is john's wife was also called Hannah. How can I find out if their is a link between the 2 families? If any one has any ideas, please let me know.
