To Margaret Hartley. My earliest known Hartley is Moses. Married 17th Dec. 1748 in Gosforth Cumberland, to Sarah Caldbeck b. 5 Nov. 1727 in Gosforth. She died 18th Jult 1806 buried St. Bees. They had a son James b. Sandwath { plus 7 others }.Their eldest son was Thomas whose two sons John and William came to Australia in 1850's. Perhaps you could look in that district.
