Trying to find Hartley

For all those trying to establish a link with Hartleys Jam, Colne library has the tree of William Pickles Hartley and it used to be on their website. I did a fair bit of investigation into it as I was brought up on the story of how my great gran worked for relatives who started Hartleys Jam. Like most Hartleys of Colne, the family tales seem to have been founded on very little fact and a lot of imagination.
