William Pickles Hartley, b 1846 Colne, Lancs., d 1922, was the famous jam manufacturer and philanthropist. Has anyone knowledge of his ancestry? I am trying to find a possible link via my grandmother's forbears, also named Hartley, viz Hargreaves Hartley b.1832 Marsden and Thomas Hartley, m Sarah Hargreaves 1832, Colne. |

I am also related to William Pickles Hartley and have alot of info on his family tree. He was related to The Rev Robert Hartley who was a Methodist Minister in Australia. I have trace his family tree back to 1701, would be delighted to get in touch |
