Trying to find Hartley

Hello! I am trying to find information about my great-great grandfather Pickles Hartley, who I think may have been from the Keighley, Yorkshire area. His son was born in 1888, so we are talking mid-1800's perhaps? I am now in Australia and too tight to fork out any money for certificates (as yet!). I got excited reading Ellen Lambet's post below, until I realised she was talking about the surname Pickles :o/ Also, my Nan always told me that we were descended from one of two brothers who formed the Hartley's jam company, but they had a quarrel and I am descended from the one who went off in a huff! (That'd be right....) Does this story ring a bell with anybody? Thanks, Sanchia.
