Haywards, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. I've traced my Haywards back to George Hayward c1822 - 1874 my 2 x Great Grandfather who was a grocer in Southborough but I have brickwalled there. One of my problems is that Tunbridge Wells only became a town as such in the late 17th and early 18th centuries and started to attract tradesman in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. So where did the Haywards come from before that? Anyone know?
