My grandmother was sent to Canada on the 16th May 1908 to New Brunswick. I wondered if any one was able to check the records at the Brimingham Archives to see why she was sent there. Her mother ended her life in a mental institution and I wonder if this was the reason

If you Google "Home Children" there are loads of sites that will give you information about children who were sent to Canada

Found this when I googled Middlemore Home:

Chris,

Middlemore records are now in the National Archives of Canada. Once you
show your relationship to a children, and sign a privacy form, they will
give you access to the records for the child. When I was in Ottawa a few
weeks ago I had a look at some of the Middlemore newsletters etc. However,
I did not see many pictures.
