Find Ancestors

l am trying to find my grans family she was called Nellie or Evelyn Hill born in 1896/97. Dont know where she was born.l would be greatful for any help.

If you buy her marriage certificate it will give her fathers name and occupation and her place of residence at the time of her marriage.From that info you should be able to find her on the census information and work backwards.

What is your grandfathers name, where are they likely to have married and what is the year of birth of the eldest child?

Do you know her Husbands name? or her childrens names and where they were born?

The 1st childs year of birth is a good starting point when looking for the Marriage.

Her husband was called William Henry Phelps,married in 1918,had 3boys (1 died) and 6 girls

the marriage is on freebmd so sending for rthe certificate might give a clue where to start

have since found out that nellie was born in northbarrow,somersetshe had brothers named,bert,bill,harry and john and a sister called lily.

This looks like her in 1901 with the same 2 middle initials and I understand Northbarrow is very close to Castle Carey.
