HI IM TRYING TO FIND A MARY HILL BORN NOTTINGHAM ,IN THE 1901 CENSUS AGED 62 SHE WAS LIVING AT 89 SALISBURY STREET NOTTS,WITH HER SON JOHN J HILL D.O.B 1876 HIS WIFE MARIA HILL NEE HATTON D.O.B 1876 AND CHILDREN DORIS JOHN AND LEONARD.IT SAYS ON THE CENSUS SHES A WIDOW,IS THERE AWAY HOW COULD I FIND HER MAIDEN NAME OR HUSBANDS NAME OTHER THAN GETTING JOHN J HILLS BIRTH CERTIFICATE ANY INFOMATION WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL |

HI IVE FOUND HER IN THE 1891 CENSUS LIVING AT 75 NORWOOD ROAD NOTTINGHAM NORTH WEST WITH HER SON JOHN HILL AGED 15 .. DAUGHTER WILLIE ??? HILL AGED 20 (STRANGE NAME FOR A GIRL) AND A UNCLE GEORGE HODGKINSON LIVING WITH THEM ..SON JOHN WAS BORN 1876 AND ON THE 1891 CENSUS MARY IS HEAD OF THE HOUSE SO HER HUSBANDMUST HAVE DIED BETWEEN THEN I THINK..BUT I COULDNT FIND HER ON THE 1871 CENSUS OR BEFORE AS I DONT NO HER MAIDEN NAME.. I HAVE FOUND MARY HILLS THAT MATCH UP SAME YEAR OF BIRTH BUT THEN THAT WOULD MEAN HER MAIDEN NAME WAS ALSO HILL WHICH I SUPPOSE IS POSSIBLE |

If you just work back through the censuses you'll find in 1881 she's got her brother Benjamin Radford living with her. |

Gotcha. 1881 census. Benjamin Radford is Mary's brother, meaning her maiden name was Radford |
