Need much more information for this I'm afraid. Lived in Swansea for a while when. When was he widowed.
Do you know where he was born and who he married. If you know he was widowed have you found the death of his wife?
Anything else you know will be of use.

If you've worked your way backwards to find this chap then surely you know which side of the family he belongs to?

Sorry, I'm a bit confused...

what I want to know is if Thomas Hill is the father of Mary, it seems likely that he is but i just want to be certain. This really is all the information I have on him

If he were her father it's likely he would be registered as "father-in-law" rather than boarder. Are you saying you know Mary's maiden name to be Hill? You need marriage cert for Mary and Charles I think!

Just to confuse everyone, I think this is Mary and children in 1901. (Was just looking for clues!). I am sure the name says Wilkins, and she is a dressmaker. Says she is a widow??.

Looking at 1911 I think Gladys was Gladys Mary rather than May. She was born Haverfordwest. In that case this is likely to be her birth:

Births Sep 1894 (>99%)
Wilkins Gladys Mary Haverfordwest 11a 1118

This cert will give you Mary's maiden name.
