searching for information on the hill family who were living in pipers hill,lisburn county antrim ireland in the early/mid 1800s. william hill born abt 1800,married lydia johnston.they had many children.eliza,john,william,edward andrew,mary and sarah.i think there were some more children as i have found a 10 year gap between some. edward andrew born 1843,was a shoemakers journeyman.his father william was a master shoemaker. edward moved to glasgow,scotland and married mary cadden in 1871.they had william,eliza,lydia,edward andrew,samuel,john,james and david.the family moved to greenock.edward senior died in 1884 ish.mary remarried a william heaney who was also a shoemaker.they had robert,margaret,harry and crawford.there is some connection to the white star laundry.not sure if they owned it. william and john were sent to live with a paternal aunt who then lived in liverpool.her name was mary maclaughlan her husband was scottish his name was james.they had a greengrocers shop in liverpool. samuel we think was sent to live with relatives in belfast. any information would be wonderful. |
