I'd like to find out what happened to a younger brother of my late grandfather, Walter Hill. The brother was a Ralph Hill born 1885 in the Borders of Scotland and lived in Galashiels? He apparently went to Canada and died there. He worked with horses - either running a horse ranch or riding school; I beleive he went bankrupt!! His parents were a James Stewart Hill and Ann Georgina Stewart (their parents may have been cousins) and they were married at Dunse in 1869. Another brother, James (dyer to trade) went to Dunedin, New Zealand and died there. He had children, and one grandchild was a Rosemary, with whom I have lost touch. |
