My name is Carol Ann Hill, born 26 January 1948. I am looking for my father, FREDERICK ARTHUR HILL who was married to my mother, Margarita June Wootton. All I know is what is on my birth certificate. He was a Private in the Sherwood Foresters and living in Danethorpe Vale, Sherwood, Nottingham when I was born. I was told that he kept in touch with my grandmother in Stoke on Trent until she died, to keep up with news of me as I grew up. I knew nothing of this until I was 28 years old. I was told that he re-married and he could possibly be living in the Nottingham/Lincoln area. I went to Montreal, Quebec, Canada in June 1957.
