I am trying to find James Hilton b 1841 in Liverpool. I have located him on all census except 1871, can anyone help?

He married Mary and had at least 2 children in 1871, Elizabeth J and John.

Hi,

I have got James Hilton marrying Mary Lindsey at Our Lady & St Nicholas & St Anne in Liverpool in 1864.

Can't understand why there is no trace of the family in the 1870s, I've looked under different spellings of the name too. Do you think the census has been lost or destroyed?

Hi,

I really don't know if the census was lost or destroyed...........funny thing is I was also trying to trace the Lindsey side to see if they were with them....... can't find them either!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking more suspiciously like they've disappeared (census), how frustrating.

I have my G G Grandfather missing on the 91 and 01 census....... know how you feel.
