i am trying to find out about my grandfather who went by the name ALFRED AITKIN TAYLOR (his christian name may of been WILLIAM)He was born in Prestwich Manchester. he then gave his address , MOSTON,MANCHESTER. i believe his father was a bookie called ALFRED AITKIN. he married my nan ELSIE HAMMOND on 17/11/1934 until he joined up he was known as ALFRED HILTON. he joined the army in 1925 and served in INDIA where he became a boxing champion I have seen a photo of him with his winners belt. he left my nan after 20 years and 5 children SYLVIA,TONY,EDNA,MALCOLM,MICHEAL.Then married again to a woman called PAULINE ? had a further 5 or 6 children with her and emigrated (around 1965/6) to AUSTRALIA. He had at least 4 step brothers DAVID,VICENT,ANDY,ANOTHONYand a SISTER DOROTHY. PLEASE IF THIS STRIKES A CORD WITH ANYONE PLEASE CONTACT
