I would appreciate any information about Hiltons living in Whitehaven in the late 18th and 19th Cent, or Stainmore/ Warcop/Ormside/Brough areas before 1800. I am specifically trying to find information,relatives, ancestors of the following people :- 1) Jonathan Hilton, bap 6/9/1789 Stainmore, d 13/4/1860 in Whitehaven, who married Elinor Smith of Kills in 1815 2) His father, George Hilton, bap 30/12/1747 at Stainmore, wwho lived at Old Park in Stainmore and married Mary Nicholson at Brough on 26/6/1773. 3) His father, John Hilton ,bap 15/3/1710or 1711 at Stainmore who married Sarah Waistell at Warcop on 27/5/1735, and lived at Great Skirrigill. He died in 1760 at Brough, and she died on 23/10/1787 Any help would be much appreciated. |
