I'm looking for information on Robert Hughes born abt 1820 in England or Wales.
He may have been sent to Tasmania Australia as a convict.
He had a son Arthur John Hughes who was my GGGrandfather, born 1851 in Tasmania
I know it's not much information, but thats all I have and I'm hoping someone may be able to help.

I have had a trawl through one or two websites of convicts to Tasmania and there are lots of Hughes but canlt find a Robert - suggest you have a go!!! Just put "Convicts to Tasmania" in your search box
If you find him you will see lots of info, where he came from and what his crime and sentence were
