hi my name is linda i'm trying to find out about my great great grandma all i know is that her name was ann she married james hughes they were both born around 1840/1 in manchester wondered if anyone can find out her maiden name also any information about james parents thanks linda |

There are two possible marriages in Manchester but if you buy the birth cert. of one of their children, this will give you the mothers maiden name. |

So with those births it would seem the 1871 census is the correct one and looks as though the 1859 marriage is the most likely, but, to be absolutely sure you should really buy one of the children's birth certs. to confirm. |

1871 gives reg.dist. Chorlton so this would seem to be the birth for Susannah:- |
