Hello,i am helping a freind find her family.She has a John Herbert Hughes born 1865ish Lewisham ? son of John Herbert Watley Hughes.John H Hughes has possibly been found in 1901 in Greenwich age 24??? with wife Violet Sharp.

They cannot be found on the census until 1901??

Can you help please?

John jnr was a Merchant seaman.

Yes your right about the census,my freind has the marriage cert,so we know that his father is John Herbert Watley Hughes.She thought maybe the 1901 was mistranscribed.

I have just been told that John Herbert Hughes died in Australia and on his death cert it says that John Herbert Watley Hughes is the father.Sorry this is all my freind knows as she also is finding it hard to find anything out.

Sorry - based on the 1861 when Mary Ann is listed as married with the oldest child of 5 this could be their marriage and his middle name is Henry
