Renton formerly part of Cardross parish has a vast and interesting history with many notable and interesting people hailing from here ie. Tobias Smollett (literary giant ) Renton F.C (champions of the world) Jane Duncan (alias Elizebeth Cameron (famous author), James Harrison (pioneer of refridgeration after imigrating to Australia. The turkey red dyeing also strated here. i am looking for any information on anything, anyone with roots, stories,ect.
