Hi We were replacing the backing on an old painting, when we found a photo portrait of a British Soldier from WW1. Written on the back was 874 HUGHES.We think the numbers are the last 3 in his army number also as the portrait was never collected he was killed during the war. Researching the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site we found 12874 Tom Hughes,2nd Bn., Devonshire Regiment. He died 0n 13 March 1915 aged 22. His parents were Thomas & Frances Hughes of Myrtle House Mynyddllno, Pontardulais,Glamorgan, South Wales. If anyone has these names in their family tree please make contact as if it is Tom Hughes it would be great to reunite him with his rightful family. Terry E Miller
