My great grandmother was Margaret Hughes born abt 1858, father Edward Hughes in Llanyblodwell or so I have been told, {cant find a birth record].On the 1901 census she is married, now Margaret Woodroofe and living in Southport. On this census she states she was born in Oswestry. She was one of Sixteen brothers and sisters. I do not have any names for these brothers and sisters. One sister went to live with Margaret when her husband died about 1901/2. A brother moved to Ince, Wigan, Lancs. I have a Wedding Photograph of Of John Hughes, no Brides name, also on the photo are Ronnie Hughes, Lily Hughes [father Jack Hughes] and Dick Twist. It looks to have been taken around 1930s/40s.There was also a sister Mabel who went to live in Canada. The family had connections to the Aspey family of Standish, Chorley and Eccleston. If any of this rings a bell please get in touch.Regards Gill Woodroofe Green |
