I am searching for any information on Henry Norman (aka Harry) Jackson, who was a close friend of my family's early in the 1900s.
He was an official in the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, well-known locally, and came from the Attercliffe/Tinsley area of Sheffield although he was later associated with Grimsby.
Can anyone help, I wonder?
Thanks,
Suzie

I think either Attercliffe or Tinsley in Sheffield.

not really any idea of dates, I know he was friends with my grandmother who was born in 1872 and I think he was a bit older than her.

Thanks for your help. I've done a bit of searching for births, and none of the ones from Sheffield seem to include the Norman part, although I am pretty sure he was from there.Maybe he added Norman later? We know he was in the Grimsby area in 1905 as we have a letter nominating him for election as representative for Grimsby to the board of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, and in this he is called H N Jackson.

Yes that is a possibility, however the fact he still seems to be living at home in 1901 seems a bit odd,if he was working on the railways and living around Grimsby by 1905. We also know he was married by 1906. No idea whether he had any siblings either.
Thanks for all your help!
