Trying to find out about the JACKSON side of my family tree. My gt gran was called Alice Jackson d.o.b. around 1891 possible in treeton area of sheffield. her father was a william Jackson d.o.b. around 1865 possible dudley port area of staffs. her mother was called ellen do not know her maiden name as yet. I have the familys 1901 census report that shows them living in wellington st castleford. I am not sure if it was here that they had a bakery shop or later. i do know that my gran was born to alice and her husband eber clayton and she used to tell me that on amorning she used to have to get up early to help her mam bake the bread for the shop before she went ot school. and that shop was on wellington st castleford. i also have the 1881 census for william jackson which has him down as aged 16 living in stafford with his brother george aged 19 and his dad william aged 58. I think that they also lived inpontefract at some time. If you know anything of the family i would be glad to hear fromyou. many thanks tracy |
