Trying to trace relatives of Walter James 1890 - 1953. He was
my grandfather. Any info appreciated - did he have brothers,
sisters, occupation. He died before I was born. Lived in Oakham, Rutland Thanks

There's quite a few Walter James, and that would help track him in census.

Think you'll be best to get his married cert ( if you know who he married) & then work from that

Audrey, as Julie suggests, working from his marriage is the best bet.

Thanks to everyone. Norman James is still living - he is my uncle
but due to his age I don't want to bother him with questions. Will have
to look further at marriage cert.

They had three sons - my father Walter Cecil (Joe), Norman (living) and Aubrey
