James and Cook families(Coulson,Riddle,Taylor,Clark) Any surviving members of the James family. First known ancestor is Thomas James, born in 1638, who became clerk to the Parish Council of Hebron. He died in 1718 and his headstone still stands in St Cuthberts Churchyard listing all the family members interred with him over the years. The last known, Ann James, born 1798, married my G.G. grandfather William Cook (a Cooper) of Newcastle on Tyne in 1824. The James' were a large family and quite prolific according to the IGI ancestral files, and it would be nice to know that the name did not die out. If there is anyone out there that can link their ancestry to the above, please get in touch.
