trying to find info on John James born Great Torrington Devon 1844 and his parents Charles James, occupation 1844 excavator and Elizabeth James(formerly Perryman). We found on a recent visit to Great Torrington a grave of a Elizabeth, wife of Charles James death 30th Nov 1851 and we wondered what happened to Charles James after this. On the the 1881 census John James was living at 23 Geneva Place Bideford Devon with his wife Eliza James, there children were down as George Andrew James c1873, Arthur James c1874, Alice Mary James c1876, Charles Wm James c1877, Ellen Elizabeth James c1879 and Walter John James c1880( my husbands grt grandfather) |
