John Johnson 1843, Matilda johnson 1844, Children- Joshua johnson 1863, Fred Johnson 1865, William 1869, Hanna Johnson 1871. All born in Dewsbury west Yorkshire England. Matilda and children are in british 1871 census but no husband. They were married in Dewsbury in 1862. In 1881 censes Matilda is widdowed and has two more children Walter Johnson 1874 & Rhoda Johnson 1875 both down as born in America. The eldest son isn't on the census either. I can not find any reccord of the farther or eldest son after 1871. I am assuming maybe John Johnson went to america first and his family followed maybe he died over there and the eldest son stayed or died too, the rest of the family came home by 1881 cencus. Thanks any help would be greatfull. Fiona XxX |
