Member Since: January 2005 Posts: 96 Send Message	I trying to find more information on a William Johnson born c1830 in Shipton. I believe he married a Betsey/Elizabeth Burnham although I haven't found a marriage date etc. I have found them on the census records living in HAYTON in 1861 and 1871. In 1881 they were living in Londesborough cum Easthorpe. They had 4 children according to the census. Edith b1859 Hayton.( with her grandfather in 1881).Idab1861 hayton.Gertrude b 1862 hayton. John I b 1872 Hayton. Cannot find any of the family after 1881. Any info offered would be appreciated. Beverley

The C apparently stands for Clark.Ernest Clark Johnson b 1882 and Harold Clark Johnson born 1883.Do you think this means that either Ida or Edith had children out of wedlock?

	Although I cannot find the FreeBMD record of a marriage for Ida Johnson, the "Winfield and Trffitt " family tree on Ancestry have her as been married to a William Davison b 1843 Kirby Moorside They had two children Noah b 4 July 1889 in Alne Yorks and Beatrice Emma b 26 Feb 1893 in Westow Yorks Ida died 17 Dec 1893 in Westow, Malton district (attached to the record is a copy of the death certificate)

	It seems that William Davison was married three times In 1867 Pickering Yorks to Hannah Frank -she died in 1883 in Easingwold Yorks Sometime after 1883 to Ida Johnson until her death in 1893 and to Sarah Ann Hynes in 1897 York In the 1901 Census he has living with him and his 3rd wife, the younger children of his 1st marriage and Noah and Beatrice Emma from his 2nd marriage

	Morning Beverley.......... As you say, Edith is with her Grandfather in 1881. I cannot find an appropriate marriage for her and i cannot find her in a census after 1881. This looks like the reason why........ England & Wales, FreeBMD Death Index: 1837-1915 about Edith Johnson Name: Edith Johnson Estimated Birth Year: abt 1860 Year of Registration: 1890 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun Age at Death: 30 District: Pocklington (1837-1937) County: Yorkshire - East Riding Volume: 9d Page: 55 As Barry has said, there is a tree on Ancestry that has the death certificate of Ida........(surname Davison) and the birth certificates of their 2 children which states their mothers maiden name was Johnson. But there does not appear to be a marriage entry! 	The only way you will know who the mother is of Ernest Clark and Harold Clark Johnson, would be to purchase the birth certificates. As Edith died in 1890 and the children are with their Grandparents in 1891, my guess is that Edith was the mother and the father was possibly someone with the surname Cark.

Member Since: January 2005 Posts: 96 Send Message	Having continued to research the Davison connection to my Johnson family, I have now found that Noah Davison ( son of William and Ida Davison nee Johnson) born 1889, emigrated to Canada on the Empress of Ireland from Liverpool to Halifax on the 21st March 1914. Can anyone help in finding out what happened to him after he arrieved in Canada. I believe one of his half brothers was on board with him, but do not know which one.
