Hi Im Linda and am searching for any information of my mother's family - her parents were Harry (maybe Harold) and Estelle Bertha. My mother died when I was just 3 years old - that would be around 1956-57 and I would love to find out about her side of the family. Whatever little details I have are from my Mum's Baptism Certificate (which happens to be the only record available. My G/father was born Harry (Harold) Llwellyn Johnson. He shifted to India in the c1920s after dropping the 'Llwellyn' and joined the Calcutta Police as Harry Johnson. He was in the Calcutta Mounted Police and spoke Gaelic fluently. I think he retired from service in or around 1947/48. They had a daughter Joyce Rita (my mother) born on 6th October 1927. Joyce later joined the Womens Auxiliary Corp of India, Fort William, Calcutta, India during WWII. Unfortunately, being being foreigners all records post WWII were transferred to London. Can someone out there please help me find my my mum's family. Thank you Linda |
