My great grandfather Peter Jensen was born in Copenhagen in 1944. At some stage settled in Liverpool at changed his name to Johnson in 1868 although he was never formally naturalised. He married Mary Ann Bamber born 1846. (Father Joseph Bamber and mother Mary ? born Kendal circa 1805). At that time they lived in Mersey street in Liverpool. They had nine children from the marriage. Annie, William,Louise,Frederick,Jenny,Katherine,Henry,Mary and Arthur. Louise married in South Africa in 1906 and I still have cousins out there. Peter johnson died 1928 and his wife Mary Ann died 1927 are buried in Toxteth cemetary in liverpool. Do these names and dates ring a bell with any other Johnsons |
