Thomas Johnson was married to Margaret Walmsley and in 1840 they were living in Horwich, Bolton and had a son also Thomas. In the 1841 census they were found in Ancoats, Manchester. Nothing is known of them before this and whether there were any siblings. Thomas, the son, is next found again in Manchester on his marriage to Isabella Douglas who was born in Scotland in 1830. Isabella died in 1883 and Thomas married Mary McDonald, in Bolton, with whom he had two sons, Harry and Thomas. Mary was from Ireland orginally, probably Antrim and Harry seems to have gone there in his teens probably to relations. We again find Harry on Thomas Johnson's marriage certificate to Elizabeth Scowcroft in 1908. Thomas was killed in France in 1916. We again find Harry in Belfast married to Violet Smiles in 1916 and he was a photographer. Nothing can be found after this date and I do not know if there were any children from this marriage |
