Hello, Doing research on my gt. gt. gt. grandfather PETER A. JOHNSON who was possibly a sailor from Sweden or Denmark and probably named JOHANSSON who married a CAROLINE ABRAHAMS circa 1843. He stayed in Australia and had the following children, all born in Sydney : Andrew Peter b. 1844 m. Rebecca Mason 1869, then Julia Hughes 1875 Sophie E b. 1846 Rebecca b. 1849 William b. 1851 Caroline b. 1855 John b. 1860 Alice b. 1863 Family history has it that he jumped ship in Australia. I have found a record of his wife Caroline Abrahams travelling to Australia as an unassisted migrant in 1843, but cannot find a record of their marriage in Sydney. Perhaps he had a different name altogether ? Any leads or connections out there ? Would love to hear from you.
