I am looking for information on a John William Jones who was my Mum's dad; he married Winifred Arlene Johnson on boxing day of 1936 and had 5 kids- Dorothy, Florence, Winifred-my mum, olwyn and Phyllis. My mum was born in July 1945. He left the family home in 12 Bowley Rd around 1950 and divorced Winifred in the next few years. It is rumoured his family lived around Northgate Road. This is when my mum lost touch with her dad. Sadly Winifred died suddenly of Pneumonia in September 1959 and the family divided and the younger children were put in children's homes. If John William Jones were still alive now he would be in his 90's, but I would love it if anyone has information about what happened to him as this would give my mum closure. There are rumours he was seen in Sheil Road area of Liverpool around 1979 when he would have been around 65. it is thought that he later remarried someone called Maureen O'Hara and it is thought that his family remained around the Moscow Drive/ Northgate Road area of Liverpool. In 1964, Kelly's register shows a John William Jones living in 75 New Road L13- this was either him or his father who was also called John William Jones. Please get in touch with me if you have any information at all about what happned to him or any of his family living in the Moscow Drive/ Northgate Rd/ Bowley Road/ New Rd area of Liverpool in the 1950's and 60's. I am not even sure whether he was born in Liverpool I only have his wedding certificate showing where and when he married. His mother's surname is thought to have been Beattie but this is not a certainty.

Just to clarify the details after what I put yesterday was a bit confusing: I would love to get any info at all on what happened to John William Jones, between the years 1950 to now, should he still be alive. I only have his Marriage certificate which gives the following information about him:

1. He married Winifred Arlene Johnson on 26 December 1936.
2. He was 22 years old when they married, meaning he must have been born in 1913 or 1914. His trade was listed as a Painter and Decorator.
3. His address at the time of his marriage was 13 Cedar Rd, Teddington.
4. Once Married he lived at 12 Bowley Rd, Stoneycroft, Liverpool until he left the family around 1950, having had five girls- Dorothy, Florence, Winifred, Olwyn and Phyllis.
5. In Kelly's directory he is still listed as the Head of the Household of 12 Bowley Rd in 1960- but in reality by this time he was long gone and his wife Winifred died September 1959.
6. His father was also called John William Jones and is listed on the Wedding certificate as a Plasterer.
7. In Kelly's directory in 1960 there is a John William Jones living in 75 New Road in the same area of Liverpool as Bowley Rd- this could be John William jones or his father.

It is rumoured that John William Jones Divorced Winifred sometime after he left home but this is not certain.

If anyone at all has any information for me or can help me research i would be very grateful; I have trawled through all the birth records for 1913 and 14 but there were hundreds of John Jones' born those years! I have no idea if and when he died or even if he stayed in Liverpool so I have no idea how else to find out where he went and if and when he died. I am new to this research so I will be very grateful for any help anyone at all can offer it means everything to my mum to find out what became of her Dad. Many thanks for reading
