Harbour Master of Hong Kong during WWII

I have recently joined genesreunited to investigate my great-grandfather Captain Thomas Jones who was apparently harbour master of Hong Kong during World War II. Following the Japanese invasion his assets were seized and he sadly died in a POW camp in Kowloon. I know very little of his life but am keen to find out more. I have been told by family members that he was married to Margaretta Elinora Jones (nee Davies) and lived in Pembrokeshire, possibly Llanrhian. I have more details of her family if this could help, but very few details of Thomas' family.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Paul

You need to track down their marriage certificate.

So, the birth certificate of your grandmother/grandfather would confirm Margaretta's name. Family members might know of any of Margaretta's siblings. That should help narrow down the period when your great grandparents might have married.

Thanks Jill! I will get on to that.

Is there a way of obtaining the certificates without buying credits on this site? Or is that the best way to go about it? I am a tight-fisted student you see...!

You wont be able to get a certificate from this site and there is no way of viewing them without purchasing them.

You can buy them online for £7 with the information Libby has sent and you should get it back within about 10-14 days.
