Jones Searches. HELP!!!!!

Hi,

can anyone help me? i'm Trying to search for my Great Grandfather David Jones. I know he was born in 1881 but there are so many in the BMD register for that year with that name that i don't want to order a load of certificates just to find him.

i am in the process of ordering his marriage certificate,which should give me his fathers name.

I have found him on the 1901 census living with his inlaws in Tredegar (He married Mary Griffiths, and has a 3 month old son Evan in the 1901 Census).

On the 1901 Census it states that his place of birth is Glamorgan Fochrhiw, but as the 1881 census isn't on Genes i can't search this area for more info either.

i realise that gaining his fathers name from his marriage cert is probably the best way to start digging further but if anyone can help in any way i would appreciate it.
