Looking for the date and place of death of David Jones, born on 20th January, 1885 in Runcorn, Cheshire. Sometimes known as David Burton, or as David Burton Jones, and born to Emily Jones, later Emily Burton.
I have one or two possibilities, the likeliest being:
In 1950 David Jones aged 66, Liverpool N. 4th quarter of 1950, 10d 355.
In 1952 David Jones aged 68, St Helens, Lancs, 2nd quarter of 1952 10f 355.
In 1951 David Jones, aged 68, Liverpool South 1st Quarter of 1951 10d 1089

Thank you,

Horrace

Did he marry?

Was the name Burton used then?

If so, his death is probably under David B Jones

Hi Flick,
He was my grandfather, and he married legally as David Jones ( as per his birth certificate, in my possession) to Marian Greest in Runcorn on 25th December, 1905. I have their marriage cert already. She died 8 children later, in 1933 and he moved on to marry again and have another family elsewhere, after which we lost touch as a family. My now deceased father went to see him on his deathbed at his dad's request through another relative, but I can only remember as a child that it was around the dates I've searched in GR and eliminated many on judgement. The research task is enormous as you will appreciate!

Thanks for the interest anyway

Have you any idea of who he married the 2nd time? I'm guessing not though!

I don't want to complicate everything, but there are a lot of Burton-Joneses around Hendon - an awful long way away!. Just a co-incidence I suppose?

Hi Brummiejan,

Not a blumin' clue I'm afraid. It was all 'hushed up' you understand, and there was family controversy about the whole issue!

Sorry, but 1958 is definitely too late, it was around the years from about 1949 to 1953 at the very latest. But thanks for the tip. I can't see him being death registered as David Burton though. But I can frequently be wrong!

Blimey! Hendon, Middlesex you mean?
I do know that he married somewhere in the north west of England, and it has been suggested by my cousin that it was either Widnes or Liverpool, or Manchester !!
