I know what you mean but I have no way of knowing if this is my Julia or not. It certainly fits the bill, i wonder if Clara her sister was born in the same area? |

The family in the 1841 census definately sounds like the right one as Clara is lated on the shipping as being born in 1839. On Julia's death certificate when she dies age 32 ?? in 1868 but he husband must have had the information wrong |

I have found a Clara in 1851 working as assistant lace maker though the age is a year or two out, .... and several possible Julia's one as a servant...I am wondering if they were orphaned and that is why they both left uk in 1853? |

Don't forget that info on a death cert is only as good as the informant knew |

I don't know, maybe that is why they are so elusive and with such a common surname. |

Once again thank you for your efforts and I can only put this info aside and hope all the dots will connect later on |

The baptism for Julia gives the father's occupation as Porter, that is the same on the 1841.. |

On board the Java in 1853 Julia is listed as aged 21 Years. The Julia we found in 1841 age is correct. |
