I am trying to find out about Cecilia Ann Carey, born in Gloucester in about 1821, died 1899 and buried in St. John's Churchyard, Kidderminster. Her husband died in 1860. During their married life they lived at 24 Church Street, Kidderminster, I think. I don't know anything about the man she married except that his name was John Green, but her son John GREEN was born in Kidderminster about 1846. He married an Alice Symonds, whom I am also researching, and they had, among other children, a daughter called Eleanor Martha Green. She married a Whitmore JONES in 1904 and they in turn had three sons,Alan Whitmore Symonds Jones, my father, born in 1908,Graham Symonds Jones, and Ronald, who died,I think, at the age of about 20. It is said that his mother was too upset even to go to his funeral!I am anxious to find out a bit more about Cecilia Carey and her husband, whoever he was, but they seem to be rather elusive! Can anybody help? I don't even know when they married! (or where!)Cecilia Green also had other children: Charles Henry, b.1843,d. 1919,Annie, Martha, Kate, Georgina and Alice Mary, born Jan. 1861 in Kidderminster. John Green Jnr. (my Great grandfather), died in 1933 aged 87. He spent most if not all of his working life in the carpet trade, as Manager, and also as designer. He was a very keen chess player, and when he retired, his staff presented him with a cane with a silver knob on top!I wonder what happened to that! What a long spiel! Please help if you can. Any detail will be very welcome. Thanks. Jenny |
