hi thanks astra and david I found the oxford one but he was born3/9/1906 and i now the marriage it his parent i whant regards peter

I believe you were allowed up to 6 weeks to register a birth, so the Oct - Dec quarter is feasible.

If you order the marriage certificate it should give his fathers name and occupation, which will then allow you to search for a possible marriage.

You could also order the birth cert with a proviso that his fathers name be the one you find on the marriage cert.
