Sidney and John King

Okay I am stuck! and I could use the advice of more experienced members please.
Sidney (b. 1906) and John (b. 1908) King, are the children of Jane (christened 'Janie' -nee Tester) and Sidney King.
I have them on the 1911 census living in Partridge Green Sussex. I suspect they remained in Sussex as both parents families are 'Sussex' families - but I know assumptions aren't clever!
Any idea how I get any further? I tried looking for marriages but theirs are such common names I couldn't narrow it down by enough to merit ordering certs. With no 1921 census available I don't know what to try next.

Any thoughts or ideas gratefully received.

EDIT - I've just realised that you are probably trying to go forwards rather than backwards, are you?

Are you trying to follow them before the 1911 or after?

What are you wanting to find?

If you're patient ... Ancestry is apparently promising to have the 1916-1983 deaths index searchable soon.

Meanwhile, if you have/get their birth certificates, you will have their exact birthdates. After 1971, exact date of birth (if known) is included in the death registration info in the index; before that, year of birth is given. So - assuming your Kings have not lived beyond the age of 100 - you should be able to identify their deaths. This would tell you where they were, at least, and with luck there will be a family member's name as informant.

It certainly helps to know whether they had middle names/initials, when searching (and asking for help searching) for marriages.

Is Sidney one of these two, for instance?

Births Mar 1906
King Sidney Charles Eastbourne 2b 74
King Sidney Walter Steyning 2b 262

If they had middle names, the middle initial will usually be included in the marriage registration info in the index.

Ah. Not 1906 and 1908 at all.

I have to stop believing the info people post ...

Sorry, I obviously didn't make myself clear enough. 'further' & 'marriage certificates'= how to trace them after 1911 when they have common names and no middle names. I have their birth certificates, their parents marriage, and I have them on the 1911 census - the question was how to trace them after 1911 but never mind.

You have it all, Helen. Nobody else did. It isn't reasonable to start searching for someone's life events without having correct basic info about them. You knew they had no middle names. We didn't. Maybe you knew their actual birth dates. (Presumably you do, since you have their birth certificates - and yet you stated incorrect years!) We didn't. Etc.

If you had read the question Janeycanuck you would have seen that I was not asking for research, just where to look after 1911. Always helps to read the question dear!

Of course, if you'll read my own post, you'll see that I said:

"If you're patient ... Ancestry is apparently promising to have the 1916-1983 deaths index searchable soon."

and explained further. Kind of an answer to your question, hm?
