Trying to find my great grandfather Frederick John KIng. He appears in 1911 census as being born in Tarrant Gunville, Dorset and living In Donhead Wiltshire. He has been married 15 years to Emma Jane Gray. In 1901 he is named as Fred N King living in Donhead with Emma but it says born in Dorset only. Could anyone help me find his parents please. |

His marriage cert should give you his father's name. |

Thankyou for all replies. Frederick was born in 1865 in 1911 census. So aged 46. I will order a marriage cert. In 1911 I could not find a George (1833) but the rest are definitely the right family. |

Frederick John King's father was called James on his marriage certificate. |

No idea on this one - a tree on Ancestry has a possible Frederick John Hiscock, EDIT just Frederick, alias King, parents James Hiscock alias King, and Emma Poore: |

I think you need to make contact with the person on Ancestry. Do you have an Ancestry subscription? I can't find the King family in Dorset, but I CAN find the Hiscocks. |

This maybe the answer as i dont seem to be able to find Frederick before his marriage in 1896. Lots of James Kings so i dont know which is the right one. |

Do you have a subscription to Ancestry Kathleen? There are actually a couple of people with Frederick John King in their trees, but no mention of Hiscock. |

Have tried to make contact with the Hiscocks , awaiting reply . It looks as though it could match up as the tree I looked at did not have any record of Fred after 1881. |

Yes, that's right Kathleen. So someone has made the connection between King and Hiscock - and you need to know how and why. |

Still awaiting replies from two Hiscock trees. I have found F J Hiscock in1891 census in Donhead so probably is the F J King that I was looking for. He was married to Emma in1896. |
