Trying to find King

Would like to find birthplace of my great great grandfather, Phillip King, born around 1810. In the census he stated he was from Deptford, Kent. I have checked records for the various churches in this area and have found no trace of him. There is an oral family tradition that we have links with Cornwall. Have found a Philip King b.1810 in Kenwyn, nr Truro, but unable to link him to my g-g-grandfather. Phillip married Mary Ann Nash in 1831, and was a master builder. If anyone has any knowledge of his birthplace and parentage, I would love to hear.
