Kia ora my name is Kelsey Leach, I am seeking information on my great great grandfather James Stewart Leach born in London 1833 and died in New Zealand 1929. James came to New Zealand as a whaler. Later on in the years he came to Gisborne, he then came out to Whangara to buy some land to farm sheep. While he was there he married my great great grandmother Heni Korokoru Kaiwhiri and they both settle at Whangara they had 9 children and I am the great grand-daugther of their 7 child Hokimatemaitawhiti. I would like information on James and his family as I only know my Maori side. |
