that could be him! unfortunately i don't know for sure where he was born, just that he lived in Chesterfield Derbyshire when his children (mary, samuel, william, martha, elenor & walter) were all born!?? sorry, is that any more help??

Can you give us all the info you have? When were his children born? Where have you had his approx year of birth from?

his children are all listed about (however i missed out Elizabeth) and as far as i am aware they were all born in Derbyshire.

the info is through bits and pieces that some family members have helped with but i'm struggling a little as these are my fathers relatives and he died 7 years ago so obviously i have to go on what i find. thanks

WHEN were his children born? There is no point people tracing the Alfred Lee from Maidstone, Kent if yours came from Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Have you found him with his children on any census?

i've just traced back over some emails and he could have been married to an elizabeth fisher before sarah howe? also, there are names of samuel lee and mary aldred - can anyone look into these at all to see if these could be his parents?? thank you

There is a marriage for Samuel Lee and Mary Aldred but this doesn't prove that they are the parents of Alfred...

You are not answering any questions that we are asking you and are racing ahead to Samuel and Mary when you haven't even found Alfred yet!!

Can you tell us WHEN some of Alfred's children were born. Then we can hopefully find them on a census and work back from there.

Were the children with Sarah or Elizabeth? Do you have any idea of WHEN he could have married either of these ladies?

You say Alfred married Sarah Howe....Did you get her surname from 1 of the childrens Births...If yes where was that child born

I have Lee's in my tree and they havn't been easy to trace
