Find Ancestors

I have recently found out that i have a half brother his name is either Ben or Daniel and his mum's name is Carol i know he is in his early 30's. Born in 1977 i think. We share the same father his name is Warren Lee (30/07/1958). He was born in Nottingham.

Hope you can help! I know it's a long shot!

Problem is i don't know what his last name is!

Unless his dad is named on the birth cert then you wont find him without knowing his mums surname.
If his dad was named then you should be able to find him under surname Lee as well. I am assuming that they werent married ??

My dad is being particulary difficult and won't tell me anything says he has forgotten.

I have found a Daniel Robert Lee and its is hand written in the page.

1975 Jan qrt Manchester mother name is Harris.

Now I only started to look,but there are probably many more to look up. But it caught my eye as it was put in late after the print was indexed.
Perhaps you ask your father if (Harris) rings a bell !!

I cant think of how you would know if it was right even if a birth was found in the name of Lee,Unless your dad will be more forthcoming then I think you may have to leave it for a while. Sounds like he doesnt want to go over old memories that may have been hurtful at the time ,
You wouldn't be able to get the birth cert from the GRO anyway unless you had ALL the info like his Mums full name and his actual date of birth. Its the Fifty year Data protection rules

Im aware of how much this could hurt my father but he knows this is for myself and i wouldnt expect him to get involved.

For 24 years all i had known was my dad was my dad and now i share him and i could be an aunty etc its a major thing to me.

I rang my Nanny to see if she could remember him she says she only saw him twice and will rack her brains for me.

Ok found out his name is Daniel so it's a start! :-)

Ok after speaking to my dad he doesn't remember alot about it as it was 33 years ago! Daniel's Birth Year was actually 1975 and his mother's was 1959.

There could be 13 possibilities . born in 1975 early 1976

The one I gave you earlier was registered twice (HARRIS Mother) Daniel Robert Lee.
looks suspicious .!! but it is Manchester .

The other 2 that I would consider is Daniel Melvyn lee (mother Taylor)
Leicester 1975
Daniel Stephen Lee (mother Burton) Gratham 1975
There are more but I'll leave you to digest those.

There are 61 CAROL's born in 1959 in Nottingham

if the child is under the mother's maiden name you could cross refer
